My Guide to Making Your Trip so Much More Fun

Going on a trip, however exciting, can be really stressful. There’s a lot to remember, and this can suck the fun right out of it as you’re constantly worrying and overthinking! Hopefully, this guide will help you to make your trip much more fun. Take a look…

Download Apps

You can download a number of apps before travelling, many of which will help you to have a much better time as you go. There are apps that can tell you exactly what the weather will be like, so you can know what to wear. There are apps that will tell you where to go and what to do, so you don’t need to feel confused in a foreign country. By preparing yourself with apps like this, you’re bound to have a wonderful time. Not only that, you can download apps like Angry Bird, just because.

Speak to People and Be Kind

Your thoughts and actions attract things to you. Let that sink in for a second. If you have a negative attitude while you travel, you aren’t going to have a very good time. I’d be surprised if you did. Why not enjoy yourself, even if you are on a long haul flight? Speak to the cabin crew and your neighbour on board. Smile and be kind. You might get a few tips or even make a friend!

Make Lists

If you don’t find list making fun, there’s something wrong with you. I mean – list making! It’s just…wow! OK, even if you don’t feel the same way, it could help you to have more fun by simply taking some of the stress away. I just refer back to a list if I feel I’m forgetting something and my mind is instantly put to rest.

Take Entertainment

When travelling, you can do a lot of waiting around. Take entertainment with you so you can forget that you’re getting all impatient and bored. Take books, a tablet, music, whatever you feel will help you keep you occupied. Entertainment will also come in useful on the beach. I love getting a lot of reading done when I’m relaxing in a foreign country. Just make sure that you don’t take too much – I mean, you do want to just take in your surroundings from time to time.

Research What to Do Before You Leave

Make sure you research what you’re going to do before you leave. Even if you don’t book it, have a good idea of what you’d like to do. This will save time! I love taking a tour when visiting a new place. Exotic places like Costa Rica even offer adventure style tours. For more information on Costa Rica tours visit

Learn the Language

Depending on where you’re going, you may not be able to speak the language. It can help even if you just know a few basic phrases. Locals will appreciate the effort, and you might even find that you get some freebies! At the very least, you’ll be able to say ‘hello’, ‘goodbye’, and ‘where’s the toilet?’ without a problem. There are even apps and books that can help you to learn the language, so you really have no excuse.

Have a wonderful time!
