My Style Essentials For Summer 2016!

Summer 2016 will be here quicker than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got 2 holidays, a festival, and some other random things planned in between. This of course means I’m thinking about what I’m going to be wearing for Summer 2016. I don’t like to join in with ‘trends’ or fads much, but if something catches my eye then I might get involved. The following things are all definites in my wardrobe this summer:

Gladiator Sandals

I just love gladiator sandals. I couldn’t care less that you get a stripy tan on your legs if you stay in the sun too long with them. I think they look amazing and add some depth to your summer outfits. They can instantly funk up a plain top and shorts, which I love. Mine are snakeprint, and they’ve lasted me 2 summers so far. I would definitely get another pair once these have died on me!

Off The Shoulder Tops

My favourite summer top style has to be off the shoulder. I don’t know why, I just love showing off my shoulders. I don’t have any boobs to show off, so I suppose I need to find something else…right? They can look casual or sexy, whatever look you’re going for. I just make sure that they are actually going to stay off the shoulder. There’s nothing more annoying than off the shoulder tops that are always moving.

Gypsy Tops

Gypsy style tops with flared sleeves and embellishments look beautiful, so I’ll definitely be stocking up on a few of these. I plan on wearing them with denim shorts and maybe a tassled bag.

Boho Dresses

Boho dresses come in all different shapes and sizes. I love oversized styles though, as they are so comfy and casual. My favourite patterns are paisley and elephant print. I’ll definitely be picking a few up if I find some that fit my criteria!

Jewellery To Layer Up

You can’t create the perfect summer outfit without a little jewellery to layer up. I love statement pieces, but you can’t really layer them all that well. This means I’ll be stocking up on thin rings, bracelets and necklaces to stack. Maybe even some monogram jewelry. I’m a sucker for shiny stuff!

Casual Pumps

I recently bought a plain black pair of Vans, and I absolutely love them! I had to get rid of a classic pair of Reeboks I had, as they were filthy and I was starting to look homeless. I was sad to see them go, but excited to get a new pair of casual pumps. I couldn’t decide between these and Converse, but decided to go for something different in the end.

Basically Anything Gypsy, Boho or Mermaid-esque

If I see anything gypsy, boho, or mermaid-esque, I’ll be going for it. I love flary styles, and interesting boho patterns. I also love lots of colour and shimmer. My favourite colour being green. I can’t wait to go holiday shopping!

What will you pick up?
