I’d be lying if I said I’d never thought about having lip fillers. When literally every other girl on Instagram, Facebook, and the street has lip fillers, you start wondering what you’d look like with them yourself. I blame Kylie Jenner! When something becomes the norm, it’s natural to think about it. It’s not that my lips are really thin or anything like that. They’re alright. They’re not Angelina Jolie pillowy, but they’re pretty nice lips, especially when I line them and wear a good lipstick. But even so, lip fillers are something I have considered, and still consider sometimes when I see what a difference they can make to somebody’s face.
That being said, I know that some people take it too far. They start off subtle, then end up with massive lips to rival Pete Burns in no time. I wonder how they think that it looks nice, but I suppose it’s all too easy to go OTT with it. That’s the scary thing about it. You can almost get addicted to making changes! As this is something I’ll probably still consider from time to time, I thought I’d put together some facts and stuff about them if you feel the same. Read on if you’re interested!
How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
This is something that puts me off. Depending on the kind of lip filler you have, it can last anywhere from 3-12 months. It’s a lot of money to have your lips filled – ranging anywhere from £150 (be cautious of cheap practitioners) to £300. That’s just in my area! In some cases, it can cost thousands. As it costs so much money, I want it to last you know, FOREVER! I don’t want to get into the habit of having them done if I have to splash so much cash on them. Maybe I don’t want them done enough?
Are There Different Kinds Of Lip Filler?
Of course there are. Some last longer than others, and can give you a slightly different result. There are far too many to list here, so you’ll need to do your own research. Be mindful that each practitioner will usually have a formula they prefer over others.
Who Should Do The Fillers?
You should do your research and choose a pro to do your fillers, not just somebody who is offering treatments on the cheap. This is your face you’re messing with! You could consider lip enhancement done by a dental professional, who can then do your teeth too – the whole shebang! It’s always better to spend a little more and play it safe so you know you’re getting a good result.
What Will My Lips Look Like?
This depends. You can inject in just your bottom lip, your top lip, or different areas to create your preferred shape.
What If I Don’t Like My Lips?
Luckily, you can have the filler dissolved if you really don’t like them. This is why you should increase them gradually rather than going for that ‘Kylie Jenner’ pout right away!
Alternatives To Lip Fillers
There are some alternatives to fillers if you don’t want to go down that route right away. You can slightly overdraw your lips with liner then fill in with lipstick. Just make sure it looks natural – too much and you’ll look like a clown! You can also use a Fullips device, but make sure you follow the instructions. I always use mine for temporary fullness while doing my makeup!
Don’t do something like this lightly – it’s your face after all!
