Simple Health & Fitness Resolutions To Stick To This New Year

Some say it’s a cliche to think about your health and fitness when it comes to the end of year. It might be, but the fact that you’re thinking about making a change or improvement is all that matters.

If you’re thinking about shaking up your daily routine, putting more effort into being healthy or taking up exercise, then good for you. If you’re not sure where to start, these seven simple steps might just give you a better idea. And remember, any step you take towards better health and fitness is a step in the right direction, no matter how small that may be.

Wake Up Earlier

Waking up at the same time every day can help you to establish a better routine and feel more motivated throughout the day. If you want to make a small change this New Year, just do this one thing. Set your alarm earlier by 10 minutes every day until you’re consistently waking at 6am. Your body will be better off for it.

Move More

This one is a no brainer and one of the basics, but it works. Park further away when you go shopping, take the stairs. Do what you have to do to make your body move more. All those additional steps will get your blood moving and keep your heart healthy.

Eat Smart

The idea of eating ‘healthy’ can be a bit frightening. But eating well doesn’t have to be boring. You just need to be smart about it. If you have a huge craving for crabs, do a workout or go for a run first. Your body will absorb them to recover, or you might find the craving vanishes, and you can stay on track.

Get Cover

To really feel confident about your holistic health, make sure you’re covered. A private health plan can come in handy if you’re ever unwell and need specialist treatment. Investing in your health is always a good idea.

Love The Gym

More often than not, we join a gym and have no idea where to start. If that sounds familiar, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Whether you choose to watch workout videos on youtube, invest in an online program or even get a personal training, make sure you learn to love the gym. It’ll pay off in the long run.

Drink More

Remembering to get your water intake in can be tough and boring. But it’s so important to stay hydrated. You will function better, think better and even burn more calories. Whether you choose infused water, green tea or even straight simple water, try to stick to 2 litres a day to see a difference.

Breathe Better

And finally, remember to breathe. Not just automatically, but really breathe. Take deep breaths, fill your lungs and clear your mind. Breathe, stretch out your body and let it heal. You might choose to meditate and feel the benefits of being calmer, or even opt for yoga to stretch the stress right out of you. Either way, you’ll reap the benefits in body and mind.

PandaVita Organic Baobab Fruit Powder Review

PandaVita, an ethical & organic superfood company, recently contacted me to see if I’d like to review their Organic Baobab fruit powder. I must admit, I didn’t even know what Baobab powder was at first, so as somebody who claims to be into health and fitness, I was a little embarrassed. However, being hailed as one of the most nutrient dense foods in the world,  I felt intrigued and said I’d give it a go. Here’s what I think!

I was a little worried about how this Baobab powder would taste. Even though the company says that it tastes like sherbet, I was a little sceptical. I found myself pleasantly surprised. It isn’t too sweet, sour, or sickly. It’s a really mild citrussy flavour, and actually quite nice. It mixes well with water, and is a light orangey/yellow kind of colour. After drinking it I definitely feel more energised, and I dare say, happier! It’s great because it also contains fibre (which many of us don’t get enough of), vitamin C, and other health benefits that you can find on their website. They say it can even aid weight loss. Its paleo, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and all that other good stuff too!

Of course you don’t just have to be boring and mix it with water like me. They have some amazing ideas and inspo on their Instagram page – @panda.vita. As this powder has so many health benefits and you can do so much with it, I’ll definitely be replacing my packet when I run out!
