Popular Accessories That Could Up Your Cool Factor

If you want to look cool, you need to think about more than just your outfits. You need to think about the accessories and the items that you keep in your purse of your pocket. There are a number of popular accessories people use today to make themselves look cooler. I don’t know what it is about them. If I see a guy using a pocket beard trimmer, it just makes me swoon. That one was a joke, in case you couldn’t tell, so let’s get to the real items and accessories that could make you look cooler…

Say what you like about smoking but vaping looks quite cool. You know it, I know it, and celebrities know it. That’s why it’s hard to find one Instagram page of a celeb where they are not using an e-cig or a similar device. Don’t believe me? Then just check out some of the Instagram pages of the famous celebs and you’ll see what I mean. Alternatively, you can try vape juice yourself and just notice how many people start checking you out. Don’t start entering those vaping competitions though – there’s a fine line between looking cool and like a douche.

A Pair Of Jordans

A guy in Jordans or converse will certainly get the attention of the girls; that’s for sure. It’s probably why they had David Tennant wearing those basketball shoes in Doctor Who (mmm David Tennant). Is there any better example of geek chic? I don’t think so although, to be honest I’m not entirely sure what makes them so appealing. All I know is that everyone from Bieber to Ben Affleck has been seen wearing them out and about. I highly doubt they were all on there way to a basketball game, so it must have been something to do with style.

A Tiara

Admit it, you know you want to try walking out and about wearing a tiara. You will certainly get some stares, but the question is, will they be the right kind? I think that Tiaras do have the potential to make a girl look incredible, but they have to be able to run with it. Without confidence, you’ll just be a woman regressing back to pretending to be a princess. Maybe save it for a special occasion, like your wedding or a ball. You could even wear a flower crown for a festival or on holiday.

Wide Framed Glasses

These bug me to extremes. Particularly when kids started wearing them with the lenses pushed out. How on earth did this become a style trend? It’s that geek chic I talked about earlier. It’s still around today, and you’ll often see people wearing those big glasses. I’ll admit, I do think it looks cool on certain people. However, it is the intellectual equivalent of stuffing a sock down your trousers.

Well, they’re not for me, but they certainly appear to be in style at the moment. You’ll see quite a few people with stretchers in their ear. You just have to try to avoid imagining what it looks like when they take it out. In, they do look quite interesting and vaguely attractive. They also add to that image of a rebel without a cause that most people love. I’ve heard they kind of stink though, so remember that before you go modifying your lugs.

How To Use Semi Precious Stones For A Better Life

When I was younger I was always drawn to semi precious stones. I used to love collecting them, whether I was picking them up in a shop or buying them out of a vending machine type thing where you just got what you were given. I didn’t pay all that much attention to what they were called, I just liked having them around. Years later I realised that semi precious stones can actually help people to feel better and live a more balanced life. I even took a piece of Tiger’s Eye on my driving test with me, for good judgement, clarity on situations and confidence. I passed first time! If you want to use semi precious stones for a better life, here’s how to do it:

Keep Them Under Your Pillow

If you want clarity on a situation or simply to feel better about something, you can keep a stone or a couple of stones under your pillow. Some can help you sleep, while some could very well help you to come up with the solution you’re looking for. Just make sure you put them back out in sunlight every now and again – they will need to be charged up.

Carry Them In Your Pocket

Carrying a semi precious stone in your pocket could help you to feel more at ease with whatever it is you’re doing. This is what I did with my Tiger’s Eye. Maybe it’s the placebo effect, but just knowing it was there helped to calm me in a way while I was manoeuvring.

Wear Them

One of my favourite ways to use semi precious stones is to wear them. Wear the stones that call out to you. You can wear them in ring form, round your neck, as a crown – any way you like! Some of my favourite stones to wear include turquoise and opals. The opal is my birthstone and so pretty! The Australian opal and opal jewelry are particularly beautiful.

Meditate With Them

Meditation is another key to a better life, whether you do it for 5 minutes or an hour a day. It can help you to gain clarity on a situation and inner peace. If you’re feeling a certain way, choose the stone that corresponds and meditate with it.

Create An Altar

Many people who like these stones create an altar in their home. This isn’t a spooky witchcrafty altar (unless you want it to be) so don’t panic! You simply lay out your favourite stones and anything else that makes you feel good or helps you work towards a spiritual/physical goal. You then spend time at your altar, meditating, praying, thinking – whatever it is you like to do.

Some Of My Favourite Semi Precious Stones And Their Meanings

  • Quartz – psychic abilities, clarity and calm.
  • Jade – healing, love, money.
  • Turquoise – confidence, friendship, peace and wisdom.
  • Opal – luck and beauty.
  • Tiger’s Eye – inner power, grounding, protection during travel.
  • Lapiz Lazuli – wisdom and truth.
  • Amethyst – intuition and calm.
  • Black Onyx – positive thinking, self control, decisions.
  • Hematite – stress relief, spiritual healing, pain relief.
  • Rhodonite – self esteem, grace, unconditional love.
