How To Get That Dewy Fresh Faced Look!

Something I’ve been seeing a lot of lately, is the dewy fresh faced look. Girls aren’t caking their foundation on anymore, and instead they are opting for a more natural, glowing finish. I think it looks amazing. It makes the wearer look healthier and positively radiant. What more could you want? I’ve been experimenting with it lately, so here are some of my tips. Enjoy!

Use an Illuminating Primer

Using an illuminating primer as your base will keep your foundation on for longer, and give you a subtle sheen. Some people even use primers alone, but those people are usually blessed with gorgeous skin. Simply smooth all over your face and wait a few moments before applying foundation.

Use a Sheer Foundation

You want to use a sheer foundation too, so you’re not completely covering all of your skin. If you need more coverage, you can stipple it on with a brush to make it last. Foundations like Nars Sheer Glow are the best dewy foundations. You can always apply more after, so don’t go in too heavy at first.

Use a Good Highlighter

Use a good highlighter on your nose and cheekbones to create an even more radiant effect. Just don’t go overboard, as you’ll end up looking like a walking piece of glitter! Liquid highlighter is best for the dewy look, and you can even mix a bit with your foundation if you like.

Spray On a Refresher Spray

When you’ve finished your makeup, spray on a refreshing face spray to keep things fresh. Carry this with you and top up throughout the day!

Use a Cream Blush

Rather than use a powder blush, use a cream blush to help keep that face nice and dewy looking. Not too much though, you only need a small amount of blusher to have a big effect.

Take Care of Your Skin

Taking care of your skin will stop you from having it to cover it up too much, so make sure you are! You should be cleansing, toning, and moisturising twice daily. You can also remove dark circles with natural eye cream. Focus on your individual imperfections and find products to help you. You should also be eating healthy foods and drinking plenty of water. Always take your makeup off at the end of the day too! Don’t neglect your skin, as it can make a huge difference!

Keep the Rest of Your Look Natural

Keeping the rest of your look natural is a must. Make your eyes stand out with a subtle shadow and something sparkly in the inner corners to open them up. Maybe use a nice gloss rather than a lipstick. I wouldn’t use face powder for this look either, as it’ll take away from the dewiness.

There are so many tutorials you can use on YouTube too – that’s where I go when I need some inspo! The dewy look is perfect for hot summer days, so start practicing now. It isn’t too far away!

Essential Tips for Travelling Light

Whether you’re going on a 2 week holiday to Las Vegas or an indefinite journey to Thailand, you’re going to want to travel light. Travelling light will give you less to stress about, especially if you’re going to be travelling for a long time. You don’t want to have to lug around a heavy case with you everywhere you go! Plus, what about souvenirs? If you’re anything like me, you love buying interesting trinkets from exciting places. You’ll need room to bring these back! Here are my essential tips for travelling light:

Invest in a Quality Suitcase

Start off by investing in a quality suitcase. Your suitcase can add a lot of weight to your baggage, so buy a light one that will stand the test of time. It’ll cost you a little more beforehand, but you’ll be glad you did it. You might even be able to take a little more clothing with you as a result. Just make sure you look at the aer lingus baggage allowance, or whoever it is you’re flying with.

Choose Clothing Carefully

Choose your clothing carefully. Make sure you’re vigilant here; you probably won’t need half as much as you originally think you need. Pack a maximum of two pairs of shoes. You sometimes don’t need anymore than 3 tops and 3 bottoms either. One to wear, one to wash, and one to dry. That’s if you’re travelling for a while, though! You can also make sure you pack fairly simply clothing and more accessories, so you can dress the outfits up or down.

Plan to Do Washing

Most places will allow you to do washing while you’re there, so don’t panic! Wherever you go, you shouldn’t pack more than a week’s worth of clothing when you can wash your stuff out there.

Take Items You Can Use Multiple Ways

Take items with you that you can use multiple ways. For example, you might think a sarong is just something trendy used to cover up on the beach. Wrong! You can also use it as something to get changed behind, a blanket, a towel, or a bag. You can do this with lots of different items to make the most of the things you take. Just make sure you take the essentials, like sunglasses and a hat.

Buy Things Out There

Remember, it’s not the end of the world if you forget something important. You can always buy things out there! Plus, depending on where you stay, you might get some toiletries free with a room. It can be harder to pack light as a woman, as we generally have more things we can’t leave home without than men. Just ask yourself whether you can justify hauling something heavy around for the duration of your trip. If not, don’t take it!

Hopefully, these tips for travelling light will help you on your next journey. Travelling is the only thing we spend money on that actually makes us richer. Make the most of your time away, and know that wherever you are, I’m very jealous of you!
